The Permanent Collection – a leather gift line for people who keep what they love
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.
A September study.
Volume I-D – the gift study. The best gift says: I noticed what you care about. So we designed The Permanent Collection – five stamps in one leather line, each made for a different kind of keeper.
First, the traveler. We laid a vintage two-blade propeller level across the tag and set CEILING UNLIMITED beneath it – the line in a weather report that means the sky is perfectly clear, as far up as you care to go.

We ran it on warm red and on pale sea-blue. The black tag carries the design in gold. It looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

Next, the baseball person. We drew the ball with its horseshoe seams, every stitch counted, and stamped GAME USED underneath – the phrase collectors reserve for the real thing. A leather keychain earns that title the same way, one pocket and one season at a time.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather – warm glove tan and a chestnut with visible character.

Then, the writer. In the lower corner of the journal we set a letterpress imprint reading FIRST EDITION, and beneath the fleuron, OF ONE. Whatever begins on the first page, there will never be a second copy.

It looks genuinely beautiful – in deep wine and in pale warm greige.

After that, the mark that names the whole line. A small heart kept under a bell jar, above the words PERMANENT COLLECTION – because what you love, you keep. We pressed it into the corner of the toiletry bags, honeyed russet over deep espresso.

And finally, the one that made us grin. A catchall tray in golden tan, stamped RECENT ACQUISITIONS in proper museum wall type. Keys and coins land in it every evening, and the collection grows.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
