The Second Look, Volume I-B – a leather stamping collection about noticing and keeping
A September study. Volume I-B.
This one is about the collector's habit: something catches the eye, and the good ones go home after a second look. We pressed that ritual into leather – five marks, from luggage tags to the tray everything lands on. We call the collection The Second Look.
First, the dot. When a work finds its owner, a gallery sets a small solid dot beside the label – spoken for. We gave luggage the same courtesy: one dot, then the words, running the long way down the tag.

On caramel and pale sea-blue it presses as a blind deboss. The black tag carries the dot and the words in gold.

Next, the hook. A bare picture hook over an empty stretch of wall means one thing – the piece left with somebody. So the keychain, the thing that takes you home, wears the hook, the ghost of the frame, and TAKEN HOME beneath.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather – here on chestnut and on pale greige.

Then the traveling confession. An open eye above STILL LOOKING, pressed small into the corner of the toiletry bag, because a collector on the road is never quite off duty. The stack pairs warm mid-gray over chestnut.

For the catchall tray we lettered a wall label: SMALL WORKS, and under the rule, ON LOAN FROM DAILY LIFE. Whatever your pockets carry gets its own little exhibition by the door. It looks genuinely beautiful on the golden tan.

And finally, the title piece. An empty frame hangs from its nail above THE SECOND LOOK – the journal is where the thing that caught your eye gets written down, so you can go back for it.

On deep green the frame presses crisp; on black it reads as a quiet shadow relief.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
