Tumbled & Strung – a leather collection for stone collectors and beadmakers
Tumbled & Strung – Volume I-D. A September study.
A small leather collection for people who collect stones and string beads – five stamped designs about how small treasures are found, carried and eventually made into something worn.
First, the luggage tags. We set a single crystal point, freshly broken from its matrix, under the words CARRY SOMETHING RARE – the tag rides on the bag, and the habit of finding rare things rides along with its owner.

The dusty lavender and pale sea-blue tags take a blind deboss. The black tag carries the design in gold foil, the way gold runs through quartz.

Next, the keychains. Keys already live on a ring, so we strung them like beads – one old key knotted into the middle of a strand, with STRUNG BY HAND beneath. Anyone who has spent an evening over a beading board will read it at arm's length.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather – once in lapis navy, once in golden tan.

Then the toiletry bags, which spend their lives being thrown into luggage – so we gave them the rock tumbler's one truth: a rough nugget beside a finished oval, over EVERYTHING POLISHED WAS TUMBLED FIRST.

The stack runs honeyed russet over deep espresso, banded like tiger's eye.

For the catchall tray we tipped a drawstring pouch on its side, spilling the day's finds, and wrote EMPTY YOUR POCKETS beneath – which is exactly what a tray on the dresser is for. It sits in golden tan.

And finally, the one we liked the most. A geode split open – plain rind outside, a hollow lined with crystal teeth – above THE GOOD PART IS INSIDE. True of geodes, and just as true of notebooks.

It looks genuinely beautiful, pressed into deep wine and deep green – the garnet and the malachite of the shelf.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
