Write Soon × Leatherius Woodman – a leather collection for the writing life
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies.
A September study. Volume I-B.
Write Soon is a small collection for people who put words on paper. Each design is pressed from the language of writing itself – postcard lines and printers' marks, made to outlast the errands they name.
First, we dressed the luggage tag as the back of a postcard and set the oldest line in travel writing on it – WISH YOU WERE HERE beside an empty stamp corner, because whoever carries this tag is the one who went. We ran it in warm red and in pale sea-blue. The black tag carries the line in gold.

Next, we borrowed the striped border of the airmail envelope and folded PAR AVION inside it, with a little prop plane already underway. A toiletry bag goes by air; we marked it accordingly, navy over chestnut.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Then, the way every good letter ends. WRITE SOON, with a nib caught mid-stroke beneath the words as if it had just finished them – keys leave the house, and this is what you say at the door. One keychain in deep green, one in warm tan.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

After that, we gave the catchall one enormous period and set FULL STOP beneath it. The tray is where the day's sentence ends and the pockets empty – golden tan, pressed deep.

And finally, the printers' pointing hand. A manicule has marked the passage worth keeping since before movable type; on the corner of a journal it points at everything still to be written. NOTA BENE – note well. One journal in deep wine, one in pale greige the color of good paper.

Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
