About this dog collar

Our large leather dog collar is made for the big dogs who lean on your legs and fill the back seat. We cut it from two layers of full-grain leather, a 1.7 mm top layer over a 1.3 mm full-grain lining, so it is substantial at 1¼, 1½ or 2 in wide and still soft against the neck from the first day.

A big dog deserves a collar that says who he is. We make this one to wrap him in something beautiful, chosen with love, that still does its job on every walk. Your dog's name and your phone number are engraved free on the Anti-Brass quick release buckle, and we make each collar to your dog's neck measurement.

Questions we get

How do I measure my dog's neck?
Wrap a soft tape around the neck where the collar sits and slide two fingers under it. Type that number when you order, and we make the collar to fit it.

Which width should I choose?
Most big dogs, like Labradors and Golden Retrievers, wear 1¼ or 1½ in. Giant breeds such as Bernese Mountain Dogs and Great Danes look and feel best in 2 in, since the wider strap spreads the pressure over more of the neck.

Why do the photos show narrower collars?
They are our 1 in collars, photographed in the studio. Your large collar is made the same way from the same leathers, only cut 1¼, 1½ or 2 in wide, and its buckle and D-ring are always Anti-Brass.

Is a two-layer collar stiff?
No. Both layers are full-grain leather, and the lining is the softer of the two, so the collar bends with the neck from the first walk and softens further with wear.

What can I engrave on the buckle?
Your dog's name on line 1, in straight capitals or cursive, and up to two more lines in straight capitals, usually your phone number. The preview shows the buckle as you type.

Can I order collars for two dogs?
Yes. Add a collar for each dog on the same order, each with its own width, neck measurement, color and engraving.
