The Good Supply × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies in leather.

An August study.

For The Good Supply.

We designed a small collection for the people who make the drive to the barn, and we named it after the drive – Down the Peninsula. Five stamps, each meant for the hand that carries it home.

First, the namesake. Two shores narrow to a single point of land, harbors bitten into the edges, and at the tip waits the small light at the end of the road. It runs tall on the luggage tags, deep spruce green and pale sand beside black.

The black tag carries the light in gold.

Next, the whale. We gathered a school of small washed-up shapes and let them swim together into one animal, with MADE OF WHAT WE FOUND written beneath – a line the barn has been proving for years. It presses into the corner of the toiletry bags, navy over chestnut.

Then, a seal for what every visitor does anyway. A little post-and-beam barn stands inside two rings, one ring for each lap, and CIRCLE THE BARN TWICE runs around it. The keychains wear it in weathered gray and warm timber tan.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

A catchall is where the day's tide goes out. So the tray takes TIDE LINE – the folded rock of the Point drawn as a band of bent strata, uneven along the top edge the way a tide mark is. Keys and coins wash up on golden tan.

And finally, the one we liked the most. A four-pane window, weather crowding the glass, one pane left perfectly clear – the weather window, the stretch of sky the coast plans its work by. A journal is where that clear stretch gets used, so the cover carries it, in navy and in pale greige.

It looks genuinely beautiful.
